Get it right,
and it flashes.
ShanWuBu turns “how well you dance” from one person’s impression into data you can measure, accumulate and certify. Latin first, every dance style next.
- ×6Streak
- =Every flash = one engine computation + one element ID
- msWhite flash 80–120 ms · a real shutter click
This flash is a web demo only. In the app, every flash is fired by the engine; the client never decides on its own and never adds random flashes.
Skill training and certification for youth DanceSport and Latin
Not a follow-along scoring app, not an online course. A student records one basic figure on a phone, the engine judges it beat by beat, the beats done right get frozen by a shutter, and the data adds up to a rank.
Record a basic figure
Dance one Rumba or Cha-cha basic along with a champion’s reference video. The video stays on this phone.
Turn it into a skeleton
The phone converts the movement into a sequence of skeleton points on the spot. Only the points are uploaded, never the video.
Break down the music
The engine extracts tempo, meter, downbeats and eight-count phrases, so it knows where every beat should land.
Score element by element
Rhythm, posture and weight transfer are judged against the element library, one element at a time. Any dimension we can’t yet measure reliably is marked beta or not shown.
Flash
The beat the engine confirms you got right is frozen by a shutter: a full-screen white flash and a real shutter click. That frame, with its data stamp, becomes a “flash frame”; a full run becomes a “flash reel”.
Rank
Accumulated training data plus one standardised video exam. The engine gives a first read, a human reviews it, and you earn a basic-figure rank.
- EntryDouyin Dance PracticeDance to any song and see your rhythm first. Zero barrier; your ability profile appears for the first time.
- CoreLatin Training HallTrain by basic figure: children through their school, adults on their own. Rhythm, posture and weight transfer measured; whatever is weakest in your profile gets built here.
- TopRank ExamStandardised video exams and a continuous rank ladder. Judged element by element, by engine and human together, replacing one-off grading tests.
All three layers share one engine, one element library, one rank ladder and one brand.
- Not a follow-along scoring app: similarity is a means, not the product.
- Not an online course platform: schools and coaches provide the teaching; we provide the measuring stick and the feedback loop.
- Not any single association’s grading tool: the stick is neutral and the element library is co-signed by several associations.
Four rules built into the architecture
These are not terms of service; they are constraints in the code. Break any one of them and the feature does not ship.
The engine is the only source of truth
Every technical judgement you hear from us — rhythm, posture, weight, right or wrong — traces back to one engine computation and one element ID. AI handles tone, encouragement and navigation; it never invents technical content.
No number unless we can measure it
A dimension that hasn’t cleared our internal calibration bar is marked beta or simply not shown. A wrong score does far more harm than no score.
Only the engine fires a flash
The client only renders the flashes the engine emits. It never decides on its own, never adds random flashes, never lowers the bar to make one happen. The credibility of the flash is the whole brand.
Raw video never leaves the phone
Pose extraction runs on the device; the cloud holds skeleton point sequences only. The server has no endpoint that can receive a video file at all.
One stick, four kinds of people
Land the beat, get the flash
Practise basics along with a champion’s reference video. The flash reel shows which beats you got right; the long-term profile shows which dimension is improving and which needs work.
Every practice becomes visible progress
The child’s account lives under yours and has no login of its own. Schools can view, never take. Withdraw consent any time, export or delete the data any time, and nothing is lost when you change schools.
Let parents see how well you teach
Classes and assignments, completion rates, each student’s change across three dimensions, exportable weekly parent reports. A coach looks at the deviations the engine flagged and writes one comment in 30 seconds.
One stick everyone accepts
The reference library recorded by active champions is the standard itself. A joint technical committee of several associations signs off the element library version by version; it belongs to no single body.
Every number points to an entry in the element library
The element library is ShanWuBu’s constitution. Think of figure skating’s element codes: each element has a definition, a way to measure it, and a passing range.
ID format DANCE-FIGURE-NN
For example RUM-BW-01: Rumba · Basic Movement · element 1. Each entry states what it is about, which keypoints and quantities are measured, the pass and deviation ranges, the one-line hint shown to students, typical errors, and the rank at which it is first examined.

Co-signed by several associations, read-only once signed
The joint technical committee is chaired by Han Dong, with one technical representative per association. The element library and thresholds are signed by version; a signed version is read-only, and changes ship as a new version. Every engine output carries the library version, so results can be traced.

Built into the architecture, not buried in the terms
Most of our users are children. Every item below is a hard constraint on the product, in plain words.
- Raw video never leaves the phone.Skeleton points are extracted on the device and only the point sequence is uploaded. The server has no endpoint for receiving video.
- Skeleton points contain nothing that identifies a person.Of the face, only the nose tip and both ears are kept, for head posture. Everything else is discarded.
- The video on the phone belongs to you.Replay it or delete it with one tap inside the app; by default we remind you to clean up after 7 days.
- Child accounts are created by parents only and have no login.A child never has a username or password; everything happens under the parent’s account.
- Consent is given item by item. What is collected, what it is used for, how long it is kept, who can see it: each is ticked separately. There is no “select all”.
- Parents can withdraw, export or delete at any time.Withdrawing consent stops collection immediately. Export covers all data. Deletion is physically completed within 30 days with a notification, after a 24-hour cooling-off period in which you can change your mind.
- Schools can only view. They see training metrics only, never phone numbers or family details. Unlinking takes effect immediately and no data is lost when changing schools.
- Children under 14 never show a real name or photo on public leaderboards.Nickname and avatar by default; parents may opt out of leaderboards entirely. Share cards default to the skeleton-only version.
- Parents can see who has looked at their child’s data.Every view by a school or coach is logged and visible in the app.
- Data stays in-country.Children’s data is de-identified before it reaches any training pipeline, and training sets are physically separated from account tables.
- The Douyin mini-program creates no child accounts and accepts no child recordings.Children record and upload only through the app, via their school and parents.

Three months to launch
Four tracks run in parallel — engine, standards, product, content — and meet at the element library v0.1 freeze. Week 12 is a buffer; nothing new is scheduled there.

- 2026-10-20Device test dayOn a real phone, end to end
From the home screen: the “what is Flash” intro, record one basic figure, see the skeleton points on the phone, experience the white flash and shutter click. Code freeze three days either side.
- Week 2Element library v0.1 frozen and signed · first champion studio session · family accounts and child consent end to end
- Week 4Basic-figure recognition v0 · Latin Training Hall screens · pilot schools signed, data consent in place
- Week 6Douyin mini-program: song analysis + rhythm · first real student data flowing back
- Week 8Three scorers integrated · confidence gating · rank v0 exam criteria · coach comment loop
- Week 10Calibration gate review · rank v0 signed · staged rollout to 100 users
- Week 12around 2027-01-18Launch
Store and mini-program submissions are done in week 11; week 12 is buffer only.
What counts as a successful launch
- 10 schools and 250+ students completing at least 4 consecutive weeks of assignments
- At least two of the three dimensions clearing the internal bar and scored for real
- Element library v0.1 and rank v0 signed by several associations
- Zero incidents of raw video reaching the cloud, zero missing-consent incidents involving minors
The three partners we need most right now
The first 10
Two or three cities, two classes per school, at least two schools with adult classes. One selection criterion only: teachers willing to actually assign recording homework every week. Schools get the class dashboard and weekly parent reports, free of charge.
Active champions
Record every basic figure × three tempos × three camera angles, in both the correct version and the typical-error versions. The recorder’s standing is the standard’s endorsement; likeness and motion data are covered by a signed release.
One technical representative each
Take part in writing and signing the element library and thresholds. The stick belongs to no single association, and every signature is recorded by version.
